The following video is a trailer that I created to represent my genius hour project, as if it were a movie. I used VEGAS Movie Studio to create this trailer; it was really fun to create and it provided me the opportunity to learn so much technological skills. Using movie making and editing tools in the classroom is a great way to allow students to create projects and share information in a fun and creative way. Doing open ended projects like this are also a great way for students to develop essential learning skills because they are required to learn software and solve problems on their own (as much as possible). There are so many helpful tools online and giving students the opportunities to use those tools, instead of just absorbing information from the teacher, is a great way to set students up to be successful lifelong learners.

Love the trailer! I really like how you incorporated a voice over into the trailer, making it look professional. I also like how you left the trailer with an open ending, making the audience wonder what is in store next. However, it still covered your topic and included elements to engage the audience. Perhaps incorporating more of these visuals and audio elements to take your videos to the next level. One question I have is if the music in the trailer is your own creation or found on the video editing platform? I can not wait to see what happens next!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shauna! The music actually isn't my own unfortunately. Considering the project is about my music, I did want to have music that was my own creation, but it did not work out because the Makerspace was closed this week and I couldn't get a good recording of the music I wanted to add.
DeleteHey Natalie, I really like your movie trailer! Your voice over is so engaging and hooks the viewer to continue watching and following along with your journey! I also really like the personal pictures and videos that you included!
ReplyDeleteAwesome movie trailer! I definitely want to hear your own recordings after watching your trailer as it does leave your audience wanting more :) your video clips, pictures and voice over tied in so nicely together. Good luck with the rest of your project!
